Neil 'Razor' Ruddock 'proud' buying his smallest suit in years thanks to huge weight loss

Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock says he is in the best shape since his playing days after buying his smallest suit in years.

The former Liverpool and Premier League defender was one of the heftier players of his era and his weight ballooned further after he hung up his boots. After his heaviest, Ruddock, who had a major heart scare which saw him have a pacemaker fitted, tipped the scales at a whopping 27 stone.

However, he has slimmed down significantly since undergoing gastric sleeve surgery in 2022. Ruddock, a former heavy drinker and smoker, has done his bit by living a healthier lifestyle.

Ruddock's weight struggles intensified during the Covid-19 lockdowns, which saw him barely to leave a house and live off takeaways. He previously admitted: “I was on a Deliveroo diet. “My portion sizes were massive – I could eat four times as much as anyone else, and I’m just one of those unlucky people that balloon.”
