A stepfather who raped his girlfriend's daughter and secretly filmed her and her friend in the shower has been jailed.
The 68-year-old appeared in Cairns District Court last week where it was revealed that he had previously been convicted of abusing his stepdaughter in 2003.
Ten years later he then began to abuse his current partner's young daughter.
In 2016 and 2017, the 'vile' stepfather hid a camera in a digital clock and filmed his stepdaughter and her friends when they showered during a sleepover, Cairns Post reported.

Ms Meoli said the recordings were 'deliberate' and 'premeditated' due to the amount that was found.

The stepfather was found guilty of rape, making recordings in breach of privacy, indecent treatment of a child under 16 as a guardian, maintaining an unlawful relationship with a child and making child exploitation material.
He was jailed for seven years and nine months, and has already served 67 days of his time, and will be eligible for parole after serving half his sentence.
